1. http://www.visualfractions.com/identify.htm
- I chose this website for my fractions applet because it explains that fractions are easier to understand when they are visual. This website is full of visual activities that the students can use and play with in order to better understand fractions. To go along with my field placement classroom, this website is great because it is a small introduction into converting fractions to percentages and decimals.
2. http://www.mathcats.com/grownupcats/fractionsites.html
- This website is great for allowing the students to compute fractions in many different ways. Sometimes students will not understand a problem if it is done a certain way, but this website provides a variety of tools for the students to “test” their answers and play with fraction computations.
3. In standard B-26.4, students should be able to add fractions with like denominators which is the lesson that the students in my field placement are working on.
4. In my field placement, fractions are a huge part of math lessons. Students are working on reading fractions correctly and adding fractions with other fractions. My class is very advanced for a 4th grade classroom, and they do a great job understanding the material taught during math time.

A5.
a. Partitive would be most effective because 100/50 is most easily done by separating the numbers into groups—which is what happens during partitive division.
b. For 100/2, it would make more sense to use quotative because 2 is such a small number.
